Types of Fostering

What does Fostering mean?

There are many children who require substitute care because their families cannot look after them. The situations the children find themselves in are always beyond their control. They may have been physically, emotionally or sexually abused or have been abandoned or neglected by their birth parents. Or it may simply be because of relationship problems, family breakdown or illness.

Whatever the situation - these children require love, care and stability from people who will encourage them to fulfil their potential and benefit from opportunities provided. Becoming a foster parent is being able to offer a child or young person a safe and secure home within which they can develop and thrive.
