Apply to become a Foster Carer

Being a foster carer is a challenging but rewarding career, and one that requires resilience and stamina to see through the difficult times, whilst understanding that it would be difficult to find a more rewarding vocation.

A foster carer must be able to provide a safe, warm, and caring home to a child who may have experienced a difficult and sometimes abusive past and in doing so give them the chance to heal and enjoy their childhood.

Foster carers are expected to undertake a range of tasks on a regular basis which would be unusual for regular parents. This is where the professional recognition of a foster carer is evident, after all who else would be asked to:

Who can be a Foster Carer?

The simple answer is: anybody as long as you are able to be at home to look after a child, and have a spare bedroom for them. Foster carers are also required to pass a series of checks prior to being assessed to ensure that they are of suitable character to look after a child.
